This is me. I’m a Christian, a wife, and a mother. Outside of that I’m an athlete, a sister, a daughter, a friend, and so much more.
I grew up fascinated with my mother’s life—a life of mother and a creator. She was excellent at what she was passionate about and that captivated me. I was drawn in by how she was consumed with being her best in such specific aspects of her life. Though my life is much different than hers was, I certainly became a version of her.
I’m a wife to Jake—a beach volleyball player at heart who currently works as a paralegal in Los Angeles, California, where we live. He’s a kind soul that serves our family well. His laugh is as contagious as his presence. I fell in love with the way he processes thoughts and information and is a teacher at heart. I can’t imagine anyone else on this earth better suited for me than him.
I’m a beach volleyball player to my core. I love the sand covering my body and the difficult days make me fall in love with the sport over and over. I currently represent the US Virgin Islands internationally for competition and play on NORCECA, FIVB, and AVP tours.
My little buddy is Quest. He’s our baby who is almost no longer a baby! (how!!) He’s just over a year old as I write this and full of life. He’s a very calm baby who delights in all things good. He loves books and walking while trying to run. He is trying to move mountains already as he grows into our little toddler. Never did I think I would have so much of my joy coming from a tiny human.
Our biggest buddy is our great dane, Porter. He’s 200 pounds of love. His passions in life are eating as if he’s a labrador, playing as rough as possible with Jake, and Hedgy—his stuffed hedgehog.
We’ll get to know each other better as time goes on and as blog posts get released, but just so you know, that pretty picture of me up top there isn’t all there is to see. I’m very open about my battle with postpartum depression and anxiety. I’m anything but the typical woman and most of my life has been spent trying to own that life. I hope you’ll join me as I sort through all of this life stuff and try to become who I am supposed to be.
No matter who you are and what you stand for, you’re welcome here.
